GEMS

In the fall of 1999 it was felt that there was a need to form an organization focusing on developing fellowship and companionship for the mature of the parish in pursuing spirituality, education, fun and recreation.

On October 31, 1999 the interest in forming such a group was manifested by the fact that twenty-seven parishioners said yes at the first meeting.

On December 7, 1999 being the third meeting of the group the name GEMS was selected as being our identification. GEMS is an acronym of Godly Enlightened Mature Seekers.

As a group we have enjoyed visiting and worshipping at St. John the Theologian Monastery in Hiram, OH., and at various OCA churches in the Cleveland Deanery.

We have experienced the fun of cruising Lake Erie, seeing plays at the Cleveland Playhouse, enjoying Gilbert and Sullivan Light Operas in Wooster, OH., seeing various floral gardens, hearing book revues, enjoying meals at various restaurants and hosting Holy Supper meals on Theophany Eve.

Gems is a nonprofit group having no officer titles and so far has greatly exceeded the expectations for it at it's inception.

Men\'s Club

Holy Trinity Men's Club was a vital part of the development of Holy Trinity since its inception.  It was re-established in May of 2008 to provide camaraderie with the Men in the church and allow them a group identity under which they perform services inside and outside the church. The Men's group is often called upon for "heavy lifting" tasks involving cleaning and maintaining the church, as well as executing fundraisers for different capital projects.  The first Friday of every month, the men's club gathers to plan and coordinate future events.

Woman\'s Club

The Women's Club is dedicated to serving Holy Trinity parish.
It offers activities to enhance the spiritual life of all, offers hospitality for various events raises funds to purchase items for the church.

St. Elizabeth is the patron for the group since the parish is blessed to have her relics in the altar table.  Each year the Women's Club commemorates her sainthood with an Akathist and project that emulates her life work.

The women host a parish feast day celebration on Pentecost.
This includes an appreciation reception for the support of it's activities.

La Coupole, a religious articles and gift boutique, is maintained by the Women's Club.

Typical activities include:  lenten soup suppers, style shows, silent auctions, jewelry sales, craft sales, monastery retreats and dinners.
Together the women encourage each other's spiritual growth and work to create a spirit of Christian fellowship in the parish.
